SMITH AND WESSON Revolver
Model 66
4" barrell
Stainless steel
K frame 6 shot 357 Magnum
My favorite handgun, this model is the stainless steel model 19 that Bill Jordan got S&W to make. He said it would be the perfect police pistol, to be "Carried a lot, shot a little". Mine is currently over 20 years old and will shoot in the black at a NRA target at 50 yards. I can draw and fire double taps at a combat target at seven yards in under 2 seconds.
Ammo used: I carry 158 grain Federal Hydrashoks. I use a reload of 14 grains of Hercules 2400 and 160 grain semiwadcutters for practice. These 2 shoot alike. You can also use 38 special ammunition for practice.
HOLSTER: A Bianchi belt holster with a thumb break.
SPEED LOADERS: I use H&K speed loaders.
CUSTOM WORK: A trigger and action job. It has a slick DA pull and a crisp SA pull. I also use a set of Hogue wooden finger grip stocks. These really help control the recoil.
I think nowdays that everybody thinks you should use the light 125 grain bullets in a 357 magnum but I have always had good luck with the standard 158 grain or 160 grain lead bullets. With the lead bullets you have to clean the black crud off the gun more often. I clean my gun every 100 rounds.
This pistol can be carried all day and will hide good under most jackets or coats. It has the best stopping power of any gun rated.
