Arkansas Traveler Hobbies, LLC was begun in 1993 as an extention of an existing store owned by Craig & Cathy Christiansen of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

In 1996, Arkansas Traveler was moved to a 1,200 sq foot suite in a local shop walk. An ad campaign in O Gauge Railroading Magazine helped Arkansas Traveler build a national clientel base and also attract local enthusiasts throughout Arkansas.

By December of 1997 Arkansas Traveler was on the grow again! The new location was a stand alone building, boasting 3,500sq feet and located just 1/2 mile from Southeast Arkansas' largest mall.
